About Simple Guitar Tuner

A simple, fast guitar tuner built for beginner guitarists.

A practical tuner that runs in your browser

Simple Guitar Tuner is a free browser-based guitar tuner for standard tuning, Drop D, DADGAD, open tunings, alternate reference pitches, and other common setups. The goal is simple: choose a preset, tap Start, pluck one string, and follow the meter.

How microphone tuning works

After you grant microphone permission, the tuner measures the pitch of the sound reaching your device and compares it with the selected string targets. Pitch analysis happens locally in your browser; the site does not record, save, or upload your microphone audio.

How the guides are maintained

Tuning pages include note sequences, target frequencies, and practical setup guidance. Frequencies are calculated with twelve-tone equal temperament, normally using A4 = 440 Hz unless a page clearly states another reference. Content is reviewed for consistency as new tunings and guides are added.

Corrections and feedback
